1. Which Branch of Brady to Contact when a customer wants to inquire/order bearings?

A. Brady have two main branches in Pakistan. Customers from Punjab and NWFP areas to contact Lahore Office. Customers from Sindh and Balochistan to contact Karachi Office.

A. Brady carries inventory worth several crores. So most of the common items as well as items where customers have given advance planning, goods are available from stock. Else the delivery for non standard and large dia bearings could be made between 3 - 6 months generally.

A. Minimum Order Value acceptable is Rs.25000/-. Minimum Despatch Value acceptable is Rs.10000/- due to documentation and handling charges. However, in special cases for regular customers, we do not mind accepting smaller values orders and dispatches on their request.

A. We expect our OEM customers to give their estimated yearly demand. This will help us to negotiate better prices and book the Order in advance with our principals. For Maintenance demand, we request the customers to give us their annual consumption pattern for last 3 years. We will enter into a annual rate contract and keep the inventory for customers to ensure uninterrupted supplies.

A. 1) Correct Bearing No (with all suffix and prefix details). and it's Manufacturers name.
2) Brand which is acceptable by Customer.
3) Quantity required immediately and annually.
4) Target Price if any.
5) Maximum Delivery period acceptable.
In case of non standard bearings where clear specification is not available, we need to know the bearing type (i.e Ball bearing or Tapered Roller Bearing or Needle Roller Bearing), manufacturer name, Dimensions, Supported by Drawing or actual bearing Sample.

A. This is a general doubt among most of the customers that shining band on the Outer Dia circumference appears due to fitment of the bearing in the housing. But this is a totally wrong conception. This shining band on the outer Dia appears while manufacturing of the bearing when the graphite shoes holding the bearing are little worn out and bearing outer is rotating while grinding the raceways.

A. This process is called "Black Tempering". To check the physical damage or minor cracks, a sample lot of bearings from a particular batch are coated with special chemicals to check any such damages. Such Chemical coating helps in detecting very minor defects and cracks which can not be detected otherwise. Such colour has no influence on the quality or tolerance of the bearings. It is nothing but a standard bearing only.

A. NO ! This is not a fitting mark or bad finish. Infact this is a much higher finish achieved with a special process to get even a smoother finish than normal. Due to this finish, the bearings have better life due to minimal friction.

A. Since manufacturers produce the same bearing with many variations, sometimes they do not write certain suffix on the bearing and print the same only the cartoon box.

A. In some cases some of the suffix is written on the bearing separately in an additional process while checking the tolerance /run outs / clearance. If the basic numbering was already done on the bearing before hand, then the suffix related to above would be printed on the bearing at later stage and therefore may look different.

A. High precision bearings have additional process to ensure very smooth surfaces, very low axial/radial run outs as well as close boundary dimensions. To achieve the same, bearing outer races are given super finish some times which in turn makes them look dull and have uneven finish by naked eye look. But the same bearing when checked with necessary instruments, found to be much more smooth and very accurate in size.

A. Keep the bearing in manufacturers original packing and do not touch the bearing with bare hands. Our hands contain moisture and salt in perspiration. If touched with bare hands, it would attract rust immediately. However, still if you have to open the bearings from manufacturers packing for inspection or some other reasons, please ensure to pack the same once again carefully and make sure that there is sufficient anti rust lubricant (oil or grease or both) has been applied properly and the same is wrapped properly with plastic cover or some other antirust media

A. There are several reasons which makes a high Quality bearing fail even with in an hour. Some of the most common problems are Improper or wrong selection of Lubricant, Improper fitment, Entering of fluid or foreign particles into the bearing raceways, Sudden Jerk Load, Misalignment, Overheating of machine or surrounding area, Passing of strong electrical current into machine, wrong selection or preloads, clearance or tolerances.
